Struck to celebrate the Coronation of Queen Victoria on 28th June, 1838
Designed and engraved by Benedetto Pistrucci
Obverse shows the monarch’s bust draped and wearing a bandeau with legend, ‘VICTORIA D.G. BRITANNIARUM REGINA F.D.’
Reverse depicts the Queen enthroned facing left receiving the crown from Britannia, Hibernia and Scotia with legend, ’ERIMUS TIBI NOBILE REGNUM’ and in the exergue ‘INAUGURATA DIE JUNII XXVIII MDCCCXXXVIII.’
