Made by Royal silversmiths Garrard of London in gilded sterling silver
Bearing the hallmark of 1917, this example is one of the first to be awarded to its recipient by King George V in September 1917
The medal weighs approximately 26.3 grams including the purple ribbon and gilt mounting and is in excellent condition
It has an overall length of 110 mm including ribbon, with the width of the medal itself being 49 mm from point to point.
The original presentation case measures 140 mm x 68mm x 18 mm
